Advances in modern dentistry make it easy to restore a life-like beauty to teeth that are stained, chipped, crooked, missing or separated by a wide space. The choices available to you will be largely governed by the present condition of your teeth. Procedures might include:
Whitening
This is a means of lightening discolored or stained teeth without altering the shape of the teeth. This may be done in the office with whitening systems like Zoom or Sapphire or by means of take-home whitening kits.
Veneers
Thin porcelain laminates can be bonded to the front teeth to close gaps or change the size, shape or color of your teeth. The skill of the dentist designing the smile as well as the technician fabricating the veneers is crucial in creating a beautiful smile.
Bonding
Composite or resin material is used to fill spaces or to repair chips, gaps or tooth shape. Bonded resin veneers are generally less costly than porcelain veneers but may not be as long lasting, strong or stain resistant.
Orthodontics: Braces, Appliances & Invisalign
Variety of appliances, including metal and porcelain braces or Invisalign (“invisible braces”) can be used to realign your teeth and change your bite to enhance your smile and function. Invisalign treatment involves wearing clear custom fitted trays (similar to the whitening trays but more accurately adapted to the teeth) which are changed every 2 weeks. Each tray will align the teeth appropriately until all teeth have moved into the desired position. It is an amazing way of getting the smile of your dreams without the inconvenience of wires and brackets. Most people are excellent candidates for this procedure.
Occlusal Guards & Mouth Guards
Occlusal Guards play a very important role in protecting your teeth and restorations from wear and fracture. Specially made occlusal guards can also help protect the TMJ and airway and decrease headaches caused by grinding or clenching. Mouth Guards help protect your mouth from unforeseen trauma. A well-fitting custom mouth guard should be used during contact sports and heavy work-outs.

Where Do I begin?
The first step is t o discuss your concerns with one of our dentists. Simple problems or procedures are often quickly resolved. If not, the next step would be to schedule a full evaluation and diagnosis. If the result produces more than one option as to how you might proceed, you should discuss them in detail with the dentist or treatment planner.
Ask about the advantages or disadvantages of the possible options. Don’t be embarrassed to discuss costs. Most purely cosmetic procedures are not covered by insurance, but your dental office welcomes discussion of cost and various payment options.
