RESTORATIVE DENTAL CARE
Today's advancements in dentistry provide many options in improving your oral health and enhancing your smile.
White Fillings
Composite or resin material that matches your tooth color is used in place of amalgam (silver & mercury) to restore decayed or broken teeth. These restorations can save more tooth structure than metal fillings.
Inlays & Onlays
Gold, resin or porcelain materials are used to restore teeth in place of fillings or crowns. Inlays are preferred over fillings due to their ability to increase the strength of the tooth and decrease the chance of leakage, fractures and early replacement of the restoration. Onlays are used instead of inlays when the damaged area extends beyond the center portion of the tooth. This conservative onlay design saves more tooth structure than crowns. Resin and porcelain inlays and onlays can also match your tooth color and be very beautiful.
Crowns
If the damage to the tooth is severe, a tooth-like "cap" referred to as a crown is cemented in place to protect the tooth from further damage. Crowns can be fabricated with many different materials, but all-procelain crowns are more biocompatible than most metal crowns.
Bridges or Implant Supported Restorations
Bridges fill in missing tooth areas with two or more crowns and an artificial tooth (“pontic”) in between. A newer technology uses a titanium implant that supports the artificial tooth in the area that the tooth is missing. Once the implant is healed, a core (abutment) and a crown will be secured to the implant to restore optimal function.
Dentures or Implant Supported Dentures
When you have missing teeth, a partial or complete denture is used to restore function. Traditional dentures are made with wires and acrylic and when made well can function adequately. Advanced implant supported dentures provide the benefit of significantly increasing stability and function.
Full Mouth Reconstruction
Full mouth reconstruction is usually elected when major deterioration of your mouth is present or changes to your bite are required. This procedure allows you and the dentist latitude in selecting the size, shape and arrangement of your teeth. Many people receive the benefit of improved bite and jaw function and decreased tension and discomfort of the TMJ system.
Rebuilding the Foundation
Gum Grafting covers exposed roots, Gum Contouring reshapes irregular gum shape, Crown Lengthening improves “Gummy Smiles”, Bone Grafting adds necessary structure & support and Dental Implants restore function. Dental Implants can function like your own natural teeth.
